Minister Beuth was accompanied by a delegation of representatives of the Ministry for The Interior of Hesse, a representative of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior and the Chief of Police of the federal state of Hesse Mr. Münch. The main focus of the visit was on the commitment of Germany to the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), where a police officer of the federal state of Hesse is currently serving as a course-director.
In a meeting with the Ghanaian Minister for the Interior, Hon. Ambrose Dery, both ministers spoke about the current challenges of crisis prevention in West Africa. Inspector General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu informed Minister Beuth about the restructuring of the Ghanaian Police Department and the overall security situation in Ghana. Within the framework of the visit, Minister Beuth and his delegation met representatives of German Institutions in Ghana. They were also able to visit the Ghanaian-German Centre for Jobs, Migration and Reintegration, which was inaugurated in December 2017.
During the meetings with the Ghanaian officials, both sides expressed their interest in strengthening cooperation especially in the fields of security, police-cooperation and economy.
