The interactive child-friendly exhibition on Climate Change ”Reduce, Reuse, Recycle“ re-opened in Accra on the 19. October 2016. The exhibition situated in a park of the Mmofra Foundation had already been opened for the first time in 2014 for some weeks. It serves as natural space for learning and experimenting. Live-installations, texts, graphics, and photographs await visitors who get a first-hand experience on the effects of climate change on their daily lives. Additionally the park encourages collaboration to collect suggestions for little steps everyone can take to fight climate change.

Playful investigation of the surroundings and the active engagement with the exhibited pieces helps visitors to grasp new ideas on how to minimize our own ecological footprint. Examples include a local irrigation system, furniture produced from recycled material, waste separation and composting toilets. New attractions are a garden with planted local fruits and vegetables, solar lamps and a project for sound insulation on buildings made from coconut fiber.

The Minister of Land and Natural Resources, Hon. Nii Osah Mills, who took part in the opening ceremony, visited the various stations of the exhibition together with several students from Accra.

The exhibition “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” was launched on the initiative of the Mmofra Foundation and is a follow-up project of a very successful exhibition for children in 2014/2015. The artistic design of the site was carried out by the Foundation for Contemporary Art.

As part of its program to implement the resolutions of the successful UNFCCC COP 21 of Paris, the German Embassy Accra supports financially the exhibition.
