Development cooperation is an important pillar of the German-Ghanaian bilateral relations. The goal of the German-Ghanaian development cooperation is to consolidate Ghana's status as a lower middle-income country by promoting sustainable, poverty-oriented, and inclusive economic growth.
On the occasion of the 3rd German-African Business Summit (GABS), German Development Minister Dr. Gerd Müller travelled to Ghana in February 2019.
Dr. Gerd Müller, Germany’s Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, today launched a development partnership as part of its develoPPP.de programme. The project “Socially responsible jobs in Ghana’s Emerging Apparel Sector” brings together the expertise of private companies and German Development Cooperation.
The YouHoP project was commissioned by Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in 2016 and in partnership with Goldfields Ghana Limited to provide jobs and generate income opportunities for more than 1,000 people between 15 and 24 years of age.
The programme of small scale projects programme of the German Embassy provides funds to local beneficiaries under the aspect of social, humanitarian and charitable assistance. Its focus is on underprivileged groups in the Society.
