Germany is one of Ghana’s most important development partners. Development cooperation is aimed at helping Ghana implement a process to achieve an economic transformation towards broad-based sustainable and diversified growth that offers good prospects for the country’s young people and particularly women.
As part of the paradigm shift it has initiated for Germany’s migration policy, the German government is also taking a new course in its development cooperation in this field. The aim is to turn safe, regular and orderly migration to mutual advantage.
Development Minister Svenja Schulze has presented the BMZ’s new Africa Strategy. The Strategy grew out of a six-month consultation process with European and African representatives from the spheres of politics, the private sector, civil society, academia and youth.
Now that the UN Climate Change Conference in Dubai has approved the new fund responding to loss and damage right at the start of the meeting, the implementation is getting a kick-start.
The programme of small scale projects programme of the German Embassy provides funds to local beneficiaries under the aspect of social, humanitarian and charitable assistance. Its focus is on underprivileged groups in the Society.
