Verification of Ghanaian documents - Questions and their answers
Document Verification
Kindly note that all needed documents must be submitted to the German authority e.g. registry office or aliens authority (“Standesamt, Ausländerbehörde”). The German authority will then send the documents to the Embassy for verification. The list of the required documents can be found here.
Individuals cannot request for document verifications. The request must come from a German authority eg. “Standesamt, Ausländerbehörde” (registry office or aliens authority).
The verification process can take up to 8 months.
Ghanaian documents cannot be legalized for the use in Germany since the year 2000.
If a German authority doubts the authenticity of the document or its content, it can request for a document verification.
