Visa for family reunion in accordance with the European Freedom of Movement Act
This means that you want to join a family member in Germany who is a citizen of another EU member state or a citizen of Norway, Iceland, Lichtenstein or Switzerland
The following documents must be submitted during the visa interview:
| Application form | - VIDEX application form - completely filled out - printed out and signed |
| 1 biometric photograph | - not older than 6 months - uniform white background - size: 3.5x4,5 cm |
| Passport picture of reference person | 1 passport picture of the reference person living in Germany |
| Passport copy of reference person | complete passport copy of reference person living in Germany (all pages, including data page) |
| Proof of adress in Germany | proof of address in Germany of reference person (“Meldebescheinigung”), recently issued (within the past six months) |
The following documents must be submitted during the visa interview in original with 1 copy:
| Passport +1 copy | - original biometric passport + 1 copy - valid mininum 6 months, with at least 2 blank pages |
| Birth Certificate | Birth certificate - based on first registration |
| School leaving certificates | all WAEC-Certificates (BECE/WASSCE with date of birth) |
| Marriage certificate, if applicable | - Marriage certificate, if applicable - in case of Ghanaian marriage cerificate additionally registrar’s certificate |
| birth certificate of child, if applicable | if the reference person in Germany is a child, birth certificate of the child |
| Certificate(s) of divorce, if applicable | Ghanaian, German or foreign certificate(s) of divorce with legal note of validity |
| Proof of economic background of reference person in Germany | Proof that the family member in Germany/reference person is residing in Germany on the basis of the Freedom of Movement, e.g.: - engagement contract/certificate of employment |
| Proof of alimentation, if applicable | - proof of alimentation if the reference person in Germany grants you alimentation |
| Authorisation to re-enter Germany, if applicable | in case of previous deportation from Germany: written proof of authorisation to re-enter Germany issued by the competent immigration office in Germany |
| Old passport with visa or Emergency travel documents, if applicable | evidence of former residence/stay in Germany (e.g. old passport, visa, Emergency Travel Certificate), if applicable |
| Residence permit for Ghana, if applicable | - only for applicants with a nationality other than Ghanaian, Liberian or Sierra Leonean - please upload your residence permit and additional documents such as rent contract, working contract, electricity bills etc. - if you are residing in Ghana please upload additionally your Non-Citizen Ghana Card |
The required documents must all be submitted in full at the personal interview. Documents sent in advance cannot be considered for capacity reasons.
It is not possible to process incomplete applications. If incomplete applications are submitted, the visa application will be denied.
