CLIMATE TALKS 2026 – Building Climate-Security Resilience in Ghana

Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ghana will continue with its Climate Talks series in 2026 – with the overall theme ``Building Climate-Security Resilience in Ghana´´. Climate Talks has been established as a brand of the German Climate Foreign Policy in 2024.

  1. Project Aim

    The project aims to deepen awareness and understanding of climate-security risks in Ghana´s most climate vulnerable regions, thereby strengthening conflict prevention, community resilience and cooperations between local communities and security institutions.

  2. Description

    The Climate Talks series is an interactive program where both speakers and audience contribute to the discussions. Each series is a structured 60-minute live talk show comprising of 2-3 speakers addressing a specific topic of interest. A moderator directs the discussions to get the desired results and ensures time management.

    The speakers for each event are well-known and popular voices which add value to the discussions to increase the interest of the audience and the citizenry at large.

    There will be six (6) productions in total for the 2026 series. The dialogue series is expected to be organized in Northern, Volta, Ashanti and Accra (locations may change during the project implementation).

    9 Months (April – December)

  4. Objectives

    The project provides a platform for inclusive and informed discussions on climate-related security risks among local communities and government security institutions in Ghana’s most climate-vulnerable regions. It also creates opportunities for government representatives, civil society organizations (CSOs), and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to engage a broad audience on how sustainable climate policies can reduce security risks and prevent conflict, while unlocking economic opportunities.

  5. Scope of Services shall include

  • The media house shall allocate Air-time of 60 minutes on their primary station for the climate talk series each month (Television and Radio).

  • Advertisements and publicity of the project.

  • Provide interview slots for the embassy to promote the project and foreign policy.

  • Produce news reports and social media packages to be used after each event (Reels, News bullets and quote cards).

  • The media house should have affiliate stations who will pick up the transmission while it is been aired.

  • Provide a production Team which ensures that all logistics required for successful production is in place at the selected location for the program. This team is in charge of everything from event venue selection to technical equipment that will be used for production.

  • Production team will ensure targeted community engagement in relation to the specific topics at the various locations.

  • The media house will submit post production report including recordings of all sessions. (Written report)

  • Produce a summary highlights of the entire project (6-8) minutes.
